Asheville, NC. July 25, 2014. We’re happy to announce the forthcoming release of the Cardinal SonsThe Echo Choir EP. Grand prize winners of last Fall’s NewSong Contest finals at New York’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the New Orleans trio of musical brothers were awarded an EP recorded and mixed with producer and musician Charlie Sexton at Asheville’s Echo Mountain Recording Studios.
The result is The Echo Choir EP, a five-song collection of tight, infectious and harmony-rich songs that Sexton has sculpted with the depth, drive and sweeping sounds akin to early material of the Killers.
The Echo Choir EP will release on August 19, and is now available for pre-order on iTunes. Pre-orders include an immediate download of the EP’s first single ‘Day of Summer’ (video below).
As grand prize winners, the Cardinal Sons were also awarded an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival’s ASCAP Music Café in January and upcoming appearances at both NPR Music’s Mountain Stage and a return to New York’s Lincoln Center as reigning NewSong Contest titleholders. Both appearances are part of the band’s upcoming East Coast tour to promote the EP’s release.
