Malcolm Holcombe
Born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, right around the corner from where NewSong Music has made our new home in Asheville, Malcolm Holcombe is being recognized by the contemporary U.S. and European Folk/Americana community as a performer of international stature.
NewSong Music was happy to present Malcolm Holcombe with Jared Tyler at the Hanesbrand Theatre on Saturday, December 15, 2012. The show was made possible by the ongoing partnership between NewSong Music and the Hanesbrand Theatre as a part of the NewSong Emerging Artists Series. Local singer-songwriter Joe Blevins opened with an intimate and powerful solo acoustic set.
The audience was privileged to enjoy a fun and captivating show that featured the always entertaining stage banter of Malcolm Holcombe, along with the effortless singing and playing of Jared Tyler. As described by Rolling Stone magazine, “Holcombe’s music is a kind of blues in motion, mapping backwoods corners of the heart,” and his show at the Hanesbrand Theatre truly delivered.
